Steve Raby Joins Company as Vice President of EMEA Sales to Lead OpenSpan’s Global Growth ATLANTA, April 1, 2008 – OpenSpan, Inc. today announced the appointment of Steve Raby to vice president of EMEA sales. With more than 40 percent of its revenue and a quarter of its 2007 customers coming from outside of North America, OpenSpan has realized significant growth in overseas markets. Bringing more than 25 years of IT sales experience, Raby will lead the company’s further sales expansion into European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets, as well as build out a world-class European partner network. Coming on the heels of OpenSpan’s new London office opening, Raby will lead the company’s response to rapidly increasing demand for the OpenSpan Platform among EMEA organizations, particularly in the financial services and contact center vertical markets. Prior to joining OpenSpan, Raby was sales director for Northern Europe at Nuxeo, where he successfully drove sales for the company’s electronic content management applications outside of France. With nearly half of OpenSpan’s Web site traffic coming from Europe, global interest in the company’s powerful integration and automation platform has never been higher. Organizations across the globe have adopted the OpenSpan Platform to accelerate SOA deployments, more quickly integrate desktop, legacy and Web applications, build process automations that drive business efficiency improvements and build new composite applications that span the enterprise. “2007 was an extremely successful year for OpenSpan and as organizations continue to realize the powerful business benefits of integrating applications and automating business processes, global interest in the OpenSpan Platform has continued to grow,” said Tom Leonard, EVP worldwide sales at OpenSpan. “EMEA represents a number of the fastest growing locations for OpenSpan and we are excited to have Steve on board to help us respond to the market’s burgeoning demand for the OpenSpan Platform.” Prior to Nuxeo, Raby was enterprise and business development director for EMEA at JBoss (acquired by Red Hat in 2006), where he successfully moved the company into the enterprise software market and built out its application service provider program. Prior to JBoss, Raby held several positions at Sun Microsystems, including director of partner sales for the UK and Ireland, director of enterprise development sales, workstation business manager and district sales manager. “OpenSpan is the only company in the market to offer a comprehensive integration and automation platform that accelerates the realization of SOA strategies,” said Raby. “Interest in the OpenSpan Platform among EMEA organizations has exploded in the past six months and I’m looking forward to working with the company’s seasoned management team to respond to this demand and continue to expand OpenSpan’s presence overseas.” About OpenSpan, Inc.
