Data Analyst Architect
OpenSpan has an incredibly unique full-time opportunity for the right person to join a highly-motivated team. OpenSpan is building a multi-tenant, cloud offering that accumulates and analyzes an enormous number of desktop events generated across many enterprise environments. Due to our exceptional growth and customer demand, we have an immediate opportunity for an OpenSpan Data Analyst Architect to enhance our existing SQL server analytics and assist us in selecting and migrating to an open source toolset.
Responsibilities Include:
- Data model design and query optimization
- Research and evaluate various open source BI technologies
- Design and create real-time and batch reports against large datasets
- Develop and mentor others
- Participate in requirements gathering/generation
- Interact with QA personnel during all phases of development
- Develop unit tests
- Participate in Scrum meetings and sprint planning
- Estimate effort for defined task
- Interact with support to resolve customer issues
- Quickly respond to bugs found during sprint testing

Technical Skillset:
Experience developing a software product is a must. A true tenacious desire to learn with career discipline and methodical style are the key ingredients.
Skills:
- OLAP, Data warehousing, BI, SQL, SQL Server, Hadoop experience required
- Experience with reporting and analyzing large data sets is required
- Strong understanding of object-oriented development principles
- Strong debugging and problem solving skills
- Must be able to perform in a fast-paced interactive development environment
- Self taught, highly intelligent and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent troubleshooting, reasoning, design, and risk assessment skills
Education/Experience:
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical engineering degree, or equivalent industry experience.
