OpenSpan Technology SolutionsThe OpenSpan Platform and the productivity improvements it offers have been deployed with a number of current industry technologies such as BPM, SaaS, SOA, and virtualized environments. BPMBusiness Process Management is often implemented on the server side and works within a service architecture. Because of common coding and development issues, BPM often leaves out older, legacy applications such as mainframes or other desktop applications with no APIs or obvious adapters. In addition, BPM can monitor and regulate when something is done, but generally can't tell you how or in what sequence something was done at the agent desktop, such as call processing involving multiple desktop applications. OpenSpan brings BPM down to the desktop, with full integration, and can report very granular events for analysis, correction, or even compliance monitoring. Cloud Computing and SaaSSoftware as a Service (SaaS) and "cloud" services commonly can only be integrated fully with desktop architectures through "traditional" integration, meaning use of APIs, connectors or elaborate coded solutions. Because OpenSpan uses presentation-layer integration, it brings SaaS and cloud applications to the desktop and opens desktop applications and functions upwards as well. OpenSpan goes the last distance so that you can use what you have; enterprises typically have many investments in key applications that they can't afford to rework with custom integrations.
