The OpenSpan Platform

The OpenSpan Platform enables you to rapidly build automation solutions that improve the productivity of your business users. The platform includes an Integrated Development Environment (OpenSpan Studio), a runtime desktop agent (OpenSpan Integrator), and an optional server-side component (OpenSpan Virtual Broker).

OpenSpan Studio

The development environment for the OpenSpan Platform, the OpenSpan Studio provides a highly intuitive visual design environment for building integrations, automations, and even composite applications.

This works on virtually any application that is available on a users' desktop, including:

• Windows / Web / Java / Mainframe
• Web services
• Third–party and SaaS applications
• Citrix & virtualized applications
• Closed legacy apps without APIs

With this unique technology, OpenSpan Studio can:

Seamlessly integrate almost any desktop application.

Automate interactions and workflows within and across applications. Increase user productivity, cut task times, reduce data errors, increase compliance, and eliminate many cumbersome human interventions like copy-and-paste.

Extend applications with new functionality or business logic, without extensive modification, replacement, or coding.

Build composite applications or leverage an existing application's user interface.

Expose automations as services, and include the desktop environment in a SOA strategy or expose or consume services as part of a specific productivity solution.

Solutions designed in OpenSpan Studio are XML-based and can be deployed in many different ways to be executed singly or by multiple instances of the OpenSpan Integrator.

OpenSpan Integrator - The Runtime Desktop Agent

OpenSpan Integrator is the lightweight runtime module that in standard configurations runs on each desktop and executes the solutions designed in OpenSpan Studio. You can virtualize OpenSpan Integrator with a separate offering, called OpenSpan Virtual Broker.

Virtual Broker

OpenSpan Virtual Broker enables you to deploy solutions as services in a server environment instead of across enterprise desktops. This enables you to very rapidly service-enable legacy applications and move them off of users' desktops altogether.
